               The most popular and widely-recognized Vietnamese national costume is the Áo dài, which is worn nowadays mostly by women, although men do wear Áo dài on special occasions such as weddings and funerals. Áo dài is similar to the Chinese Qipao, consisting of a long gown with a slit on both sides, worn over silk pants.

              Ao Yai is the national dress of Vietnam, consisting of a fitted silk dress over a long trousers. The dresses that are often worn at weddings and important national ceremonies. It looks like a Chinese Cheongsam. It is now a very popular dress with Vietnamese women. Vietnamese men are dressed in Ao Yai clothing at weddings or funerals.
